About this position
The Cybersecurity Team, within the Information Technology Department of the IDB, is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Security Engineer Consultant. You will work within a group of security-minded and enthusiastic team players providing technical advice, setting security standards, performing risk assessments, addressing challenges, and participating in the development of robust security baselines and processes for cloud and on-premises solutions.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement security solutions based on security principles for on-premise, cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid infrastructure (APIs, network, servers, IaaS, PaaS, …).
- Maintain and enforce security standards, hardening baselines, and guidelines, continuously adapting them to the evolving security landscape and conducting tests to evaluate compliance.
- Collaborate closely with enterprise architects, infrastructure administrators, and development leaders to co-design and implement security controls.
- Develop security Key Performance Indicators and tools to monitor and report on performance levels.
- Conduct threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate security risks in proposed architectures.
- Communicate effectively with technical personnel and management stakeholders.
What you’ll need
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
- Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in Cybersecurity, cloud architecture, or risk management with a focus on Azure or AWS platforms.
- Desirable:
- At least one of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, GRISC, Azure Security Engineer Associate, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect, Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Security Specialty, CCSP.
- Languages: Proficiency in English.

Requirements
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
- Length of contract: 12 months. Contract may be extended up to 36 months based on business requirements and consultant’s performance. In the event of an extension, additional benefits, including a Saving Plan Allowance, will be provided.
- Work Location: On site.
