About this position

ITE is responsible for formulating the Bank’s IT Strategy, its implementation and providing related tools, solutions, and services. It is also the focal point for all IT services, infrastructure, applications, architecture, policies and security at Headquarters and Country Offices aiming to become even more business aligned, customer centric and agile.

The focus of this consultancy opportunity will be to serve as the strategic liaison between one or more of the departments within the scope of work of the group and the IT department. You will help stakeholders identify and prioritize demands for IT services and solutions, document business processes and recommend improvements, work with IT suppliers to deliver new business solutions or enhance existing IT solutions, lead the implementation efforts and organize the work leading to the production implementation of new systems (or improvements to existing systems) that deliver value and enable key business processes.

Team members in this group manage the shape the demand for IT solutions and services, provide advice on IT matters, develop project proposals and help articulate business cases, manage IT capital investments, and help departments develop innovative solutions to business problems.

What you’ll do:

  • Assume ownership for the delivery of IT solutions.
  • Facilitate design sessions with project teams to help identify current and future state business processes.
  • Develop deep understanding of client departments business processes to identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Perform low-code development for POCs and the implementation of new solutions.
  • Work with providers to secure firm estimates for work.
  • Deliver presentations to Senior Management to provide status reports and develop buy-in for the proposed solutions.
  • Promote the use of technologies in the day-to-day work of your clients.
  • Other activities, as agreed with the supervisor.

What you’ll need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another field related to the delivery of IT solutions
  • Experience: Two to Five years as Business Analyst or similar role, where you were responsible for driving the solicitation of requirements and the documentation of business processes for the delivery of IT solutions.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.
  • Soft Skills: Team player, inclusive, innovative and creative, client-oriented, results-driven, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to concisely and accurately convey information, both written and verbal, tailored appropriately to audiences. Stakeholder management and the facilitating small and large groups. Knowledge of design thinking and similar methodologies

Requirements:

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration:

  • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
  • Length of contract: 19 months. Contract may be extended up to 36 months based on business requirements and consultant’s performance.
  • Work Location: On site.
