ABOUT

JIPS is an interagency service set up in 2009 and dedicated to support and bring governments, displaced persons, host communities and national and international actors together to collaborate to collect, analyse and use data to inform Durable Solutions for Internal Displacement. Co-hosted by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), JIPS’ Executive Committee further includes the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC), the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and the Office of the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of IDPs.

A globally recognized neutral broker, JIPS supports collaborative and responsible approaches to data collection and use in Internal Displacement contexts, with a particular focus on facilitating collaborative data processes (including a strong expertise on urban displacement), developing national capacities, informing and advancing durable solutions processes, and IDP statistics.

OVERALL PURPOSE

Under the day-to-day supervision of JIPS Grants & Budget Management Coordinator (GBMC), the Finance, Grants, and Admin Officer (FGAO) is mainly responsible for carrying out financial and administrative tasks required to ensure the effective budget, grant and administrative management of JIPS. This includes the maintenance of JIPS financial management tools and content in DRC’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (Dynamics), and support to budget follow-up processes, as well as financial reporting.

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

Required

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a relevant field
  • University degree in finance or Business Administration or equivalent professional qualification
  • Fluency in English

Desired

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (previous experience with DRC Dynamics)
  • Fluency in French

SALARY AND CONDITIONS

The position is placed in Geneva, Switzerland within the JIPS HQ and DRC Geneva Representation office. This position will be placed at Employment Band H at 60% workload. You will be expected to work 3 days a week. DRC offers a competitive salary based on qualification and experience; approximate monthly gross salary is estimated to be from approximately 3’870 CHF at 60%. DRC does not pay any additional allowances (schooling, housing etc.). DRC staff pay tax and social security according to Swiss law and health insurance.
