Job Overview: The Job Developer serves as part of the Sacramento Early Employment team, the team responsible for managing the provision of services to assist newly arrived refugee clients to attain self-sufficiency through employment. Specifically, the Job Developer will identify and create job opportunities for clients through conducting outreach and employer engagement. The Job Developer will then help match qualified clients with these employment opportunities. The Job Developer will be responsible for developing relationships with employers, successfully placing clients into jobs, providing ongoing retention services and support to both the employer and the client, and maintaining relevant internal tracking systems. 
Responsibilities: 
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct employer outreach to identify job opportunities and build new employer relationships.
  • Coordinate with employer partners to host on-site hiring events for enrolled clients.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with area employers in order to identify appropriate employment opportunities for clients.
  • Educate employers on the merits of refugee employment and relevant right to work documentation.
  • Act as a liaison between the IRC, employers, clients, and community partners.
  • Research and attend relevant job development events such as job fairs, community events, job site tours, etc.
  • Plan and implement workshops and development activities to ensure employment opportunities are appropriate, relevant, and attainable.
  • Determine specific, appropriate employment opportunities, and assist clients in accessing these opportunities by guiding them through the hiring process.
  • Customize clients’ resumes to fit identified opportunities.
  • Assist job seekers in completing applications and new hire paperwork.
  • Monitor job performance, wage level, and employer/employee satisfaction.
  • Assist clients and employers with any post placement issues and continuing employment needs.
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual job placement goals.
  • Promote and actively participate in initiatives and efforts to build team engagement, inclusion, and cohesion in IRC Sacramento.
  • Foster ongoing learning, honest dialogue, and reflection to strengthen safeguarding and to promote IRC values and adherence to IRC policies.

Job Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective networking and influence. Proven ability to foster and manage client and employer relationships.
  • Prior experience building relationships with employers and/or organizational partners to gain their support for successful program outcomes. 
  • Strong analytical skills to forecast problems and the ability to quickly develop contingency plans.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively track large amounts of information and maintain records of progress achieved and follow up on rapidly changing information.
  • Exercise effective conflict management and ability to communicate relevant expectations.
  • Familiarity with the Sacramento job market strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Proven success in taking initiative, achieving goals, and working effectively with all levels of staff in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
  • Strong leadership skills.
Working Environment:
  • Standard office work environment coupled with regular travel in and around the service delivery area.
  • May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Stable Wi-Fi with hybrid model.

US Benefits: The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits.
