Duties and Responsibilities

Background and Objective The UN RCO in Lebanon is recruiting a consultant to support the design of a clear, actionable pipeline of fully costed, high-impact Joint Programmes that are table-ready for resource mobilization and rapid roll-out. The Joint Programmes would base their analysis on the Lebanon Recovery Assessment (LRA). Notably, they will aim to (i) reignite progress on SDGs; (ii) address critical recovery and development gaps, in coordination with national and international partners; and (iii) enhance coherence by maximizing synergies around common urgent priorities. Duties and Responsibilities The consultant will be supporting in: – Designing cohesive Joint Programmes with robust theories of change, clear results frameworks and budgets – Consulting, together with relevant colleagues, with UN organizations and partners as identified by the RCO to ensure joint programmes in the pipeline do not duplicate other ongoing efforts and are fit for purpose and in line with current priorities – Ensuring Finance Readiness by packaging each programme with investment rationales, value for money analyses, and tailored costed proposals

 

Qualifications/special skills

A bachelor’s degree in Business, development Studies, or related area is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional work experience in programme, development, management and coordination is required. Previous experience with UN/donor partner is required.

 

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in English and Arabic is required. Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.

 

Additional Information

Recruitment for this position is on a local basis. The incumbent is required to have the legal right to live and work in the specified working location.
