Summary

The Junior Art Director will help concept, ideate, and design programs, ads, films and more with cultural and human insights that connect to the Save the Children brand.

You’ll build your portfolio while solving complex problems, using creativity and design. You will have the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively, with a diverse range of colleagues from other creatives to advocacy experts to local program workers. On any day you might be designing or creating social media posts, digital ads, OOH, live event concepts, wearables, documentary stories of children or work with our partners including Amazon, Facebook, TJ Maxx and more.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

  • Designing and concepting on multiple projects (70%)
  • Collaborate with the senior creatives and Traffic Manager to keep projects on schedule (10%)
    • Schedule meetings
    • Develop calendars
    • Update the team on project status throughout
  • Bring proactive ideas to senior creatives based on known marketing objectives (10%)
  • Work with internal groups, including corporate partners, advocacy and fundraising to inform more relevant, powerful work for diverse audiences and objectives (10%)

 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in full Adobe design suite
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining and environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging

Preferred Qualifications

  • Video editing skills
  • Ad agency experience
  • Design or Advertising Degree

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 – NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $66,300 – $74,100 base salary
  • Geo 2 – Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $60,350 – $67,450 base salary
  • Geo 3 – Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $54,400 – $60,800 base salary

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program.  Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
