Context/Reporting line:
Under the general guidance of the Senior Operations Coordinator (Ret & Recov), the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the administrative supervisor of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct supervision of the Senior Administrative Assistant-CRC, the community focal point will perform the following duties:
Core Functions / Responsibilities
- Share information in communities on available services in the area (including services provided by IOM CRC) to facilitate self- referral of individuals.
- Distribute leaflets and maps with information on the complaint mechanism, referral system and eligibility criteria for accessing services.
- Share information on how the IOM feedback mechanisms can be accessed by beneficiaries and the broader community.
- Participate in regular meetings with the CRC team to relay feedback, concerns, and trends.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the programme management.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or any related field from an accredited academic university or institution with one year of relevant professional experience, or
- Highschool diploma with three years of relevant professional experience.
Experience and Skills:
- Experience in related field, preferably with community engagement programs; implemented.
Experience working for the United Nations, or an international non-governmental organization. - Good experience in community mobilization.
- Good communication and coordination skills with demining sectors.
- Demonstrated gender awareness and gender sensitivity.
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and drive for results.
- Proficiency in office applications, including Word and Excel, internet explorer.
- Active and available to support CRC Activities.
- The person selected has a good reputation in the community due to his/her activism or past community work.
- CFPs are persons of different gender, age, ethnic, tribal and religious background to ensure meaningful representation and access to all community members (possibly one female and one male CFP).
Language:
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.

IOM IN/234 – Policy and Procedures for Preventing and Responding to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
IOM has a policy of zero tolerance of sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) by IOM staff members and the employees or any other persons engaged and controlled by IOM Contractors. The staff members and all contract type holders shall protect against and prevent sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
