Context/Reporting line:

Under the overall supervision of the Sr Programme Coordinator (Peace Bldg&Stabl), the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct supervision of the Senior Disability Inclusion Assistant, the successful candidate will perform the follow duties.

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  1. Assist the English teacher of Al-Sader school to develop after-school communicative English language accessible instruction materials and activities for to increase the capacities and access to communicative English language for 20 students with vision impairments from Al Sader School Students with the support of the program consultant.
  2. Assist the English teacher of Al-Sader school to implement enhancement activities and workplan for the students with vision impairments from Al-Sader school which include delivery of virtual or in-person activities – career coaching, career, games, and development activities – as well as site external education facilities. With a focus on communicative English language skills.
  3. Assist in maintaining an organized and accessible classroom environment.
  4. Support the students with vision impairments to utilize audio resources, and audiobooks, to make written materials accessible.
  5. Facilitate group activities and interactive exercises to promote effective communication among students, encouraging an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  6. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or any related field from an accredited academic university or institute with 1 year of relevant professional experience, or
  • Completed school diploma degree with 3 years of relevant professional experience.

Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in teaching English to students with vision impairments.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies, such as screen readers, Braille displays, and accessible digital tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people including persons with disabilities.
  • Experience in facilitating individual and group sessions is an advantage.
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks at the same time is a strong advantage.

 

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
