we are looking together with our partner organisation Centre for Balkan Cooperation LOJA
for a Junior International Peace Worker (f/m/d) in Tetovo and Skopje, North Macedonia
These are your tasks
As a Junior International Peace Worker, you will support KURVE Wustrows partner organisation Centre for Balkan Cooperation LOJA in North Macedonia in the framework of the Civil Peace Service Programme in the Western Balkans.
- You assist KURVE Wustrows country coordinator in the Western Balkans in the office in Skopje
- You support our partner organisation Centre for Balkan Cooperation LOJA in Tetovo in planning, monitoring, documentation and impact analysis of courses on interethnic youth work at universities and related training work

Skills you have
- First professional experience in working with NGOs, preferably in intercultural teams and/or abroad.
- Relevant training in the field of civil, nonviolent conflict transformation and sound knowledge in this area will be an asset.
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with conflicts, which can be used respectfully and sensitively in an intercultural context.
- The ability to self-reflect and a high degree of learning and adaptability.
- Ability to deal with complex situations and tolerance towards unclear situations.
- Very good English language skills and willingness to learn Macedonian or Albanian.
- Ability to commute between Skopje and Tetovo
- Former experience in the Western Balkans is an advantage
What we offer you

- A full-time contract in accordance with the Development Workers Act (for EU citizens, EEA plus Switzerland ) until 31.12.2026.

- An extensive preparation period in Germany, usually three to four months; the preparation time will start on 16.09.2024.
- A meaningful role as a Junior International Peace Worker who is working for the Centre for Training and Networking in Nonviolent Action – KURVE Wustrow, and the opportunity to actively and creatively advocate social change.
- Participation in qualification and further training measures, regular supervision and, if necessary, participation in a corresponding language course.
