Junior Legal Officer

New Direction is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Compliance Officer to support the Compliance Department in ensuring adherence to internal procedures and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will assist in drafting contracts, monitoring compliance with internal policies, and ensuring that company operations align with the relevant Regulations and the guidelines set by regulatory authorities. 

Additionally, the Junior Compliance Officer will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of payments and conducting compliance checks to mitigate risks. Their will also have to book invoices and deal with the Belgian administration such as the Belgian Gazette.

The candidate should be fluent in English. Fluency in French is considered an asset. 

Key responsibilities will be

– Regulatory and Institutional Liaison: Maintain relationships with the European Parliament and relevant authorities, including DGFINS, APPF, ECA, and OLAF, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

– Contract Drafting & Management: Draft and review contracts to ensure compliance with European legal frameworks.

– Procurement & Tendering Procedures: Oversee and manage procurement processes in accordance with European regulations, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal standards.

– Regulatory Compliance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and verify compliance with European regulations governing European political parties and political foundations.

– Statutory Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with the organization’s statutes and internal governance rules.

– Official Communications: Notify the Moniteur of any statutory or regulatory modifications requiring official communication.

– Internal Regulation & Implementation: Draft, update, and implement internal policies and regulatory frameworks to ensure organizational compliance.

– Financial & Project Eligibility Compliance: Assess the eligibility of projects and verify the compliance of all expenditures and revenues with applicable financial regulations.

– Payment Execution Verification: Ensure the correct execution of payments by verifying the exact correspondence between the allocated budget, the received offer, the contractual provisions, and the issued invoice.
