Overview

The Nanostructured Solar Cells Research Group is dedicated to the development of micro- and nanostructured solutions to improve the performance of thin-film solar cells.

We are looking for a qualified Junior Research Fellow to join our team in the project “Solid-state thin film batteries”, under the PRR framework, under the New Generation Storage Agenda.

                

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

  • Developing vacuum-based deposition processes of cathodes materials for Li-based solid-state thin-film batteries;
  • Materials’ characterisation by X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and other methods;
  • Fabrication of thin-film batteries based on the developed cathodes;
  • Characterisation of thin-film batteries.

 

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

  • MSc in Physics, Material Science, Material Engineering, Chemistry, or similar.

Experience

  • Thin film deposition.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Vacuum deposition of compound materials;
  • Material deposition;
  • Solid-state batteries;
  • Thin-film Li-ion batteries;
  • Scanning electron microscopy;
  • X-ray diffraction.

 

Personal Skills

  • Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;
  • Problem Solving ability;
  • Customer orientation;
  • Ability to work independently and as team player;
