The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (the Trust) is looking for a part-time Kent’s Plan Bee Project
Officer to lead on the delivery of Kent’s Plan Bee, the pollinator action plan for Kent County
Council. This role is a secondment to Kent County Council.

This is a part-time (28 hours/week), fixed term for 20 months post based at home in Kent (or
within commuting distance) with some office-based working at the KCC offices.

Your primary role will be to provide land management advice for bumblebees and pollinators
generally and influence the management of public land in Kent; undertake bumblebee, pollinator,
and habitat monitoring; and promote Kent’s Plan Bee.

You will work closely with teams within Kent County Council to facilitate pollinator friendly
management and support any input to strategic partnership work. You will provide social media
content for KCC and the Trust communications teams regarding Kent’s Plan Bee. You will monitor
bumblebees and other pollinators, as well as habitats, at sites where management is being
implemented to provide evidence of the effectiveness of our interventions. You will compile
survey reports and set up systems for data collection and presentation. You will recruit and
train KCC staff and volunteers to undertake surveys and monitoring.

Please refer to the job description and person specification for more details of the role.

to come, to stay and do their best work. We pride ourselves on reaching for our vision – to
reverse the decline in bumblebees, through the hard work and dedication of our passionate and
