Job description
As part of an established team in our Kinship team based in Dandenong , your primary focus will be the effective case management for children and young people aged 0-18 years in Kinship placements, and supporting them with their day-to-day challenges, build positive relationships and engage in activities to enhance resilience and self-esteem.
Your role is to improve outcomes and make a difference to the lives of children and young people through your delivery of services and support achievement of program goals and objectives,
There will be opportunities to grow your skills and experience, and provided support, supervision, and development to set you up for success.
Your case management will include undertaking carer assessments, comprehensive risk assessments and the provision of support to children/young people, their families, and carers. There will also be an emphasis in ensuring that children/young people and their carers are linked into community-based support services.
What a successful candidate looks like
- Tertiary Qualification in, Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology or Community Services
- Experience in a similar role, out of home care, foster care, kinship is highly desired
- Client centred practice
- Organised, flexible, team player who is also able to work autonomously
- Previous Child Protection experience would be great
- Current driving license (essential)
- Comprehensive understanding of kinship care and the issues affecting carers and children
