8 weeks, June 25th – August 16th 2024 – 30hrs/week  – 17$/h

 

As part of the Canada Summer Jobs program, we have the opportunity to welcome 6 young people as assistants in 5 Depot programs. Visit our website to find the position that suits you! 

 

Are you passionate about good food, love cooking or would like to improve your skills? Join the Resto-Depot Team! Our program allows us, among other things, to serve a meal 4 times a week to our community.

 

What we are offering: 

  • Work experience with our Chef to add to your CV!
  • Participating in a team effort that is dynamic and warm, multigenerational, and multicultural.
  • Improve your culinary skills! Learn about health and safety, food prep, and knife skills.

 

Your responsibilities / Tasks:  

  • Assist our community Chef with meal planning and preparation in the Depot Kitchen;
  • Make sure kitchen volunteers have assigned tasks, and help orient new volunteers to the kitchen.

 

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable speaking and reading French and/or English (additional language an asset);
  • In good physical shape, able to stand for several hours at a time, able to carry heavy loads (max: 50lbs);
  • Ability to work efficiently as a member of a team;
  • A sense of initiative and a desire to take part in the adventure of life at the Depot!

Eligibility and working conditions: 

  • This position is offered through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Link to the Eligibility Criterias.
  • Supervisor: James Barrington (Food Skills Manager & Meal Program Coordinator)
  • Workplace: our kitchen in NDG (Montreal)
  • Schedule: 30 hours per week, including Tuesday evenings. Exact schedule to be determined.
