Providing assistance in emergencies and crises and saving lives and livelihoods remains the core mission of the organization. Transitional assistance to stabilize after acute emergencies and to cover the gap between emergency assistance and subsequent development cooperation.

Context

With the support of the World Food Program (WFP), Côte d’Ivoire has created the Regional Centre of Excellence against Hunger and Malnutrition (CERFAM), as part of its drive to work with African countries in the fight against hunger and malnutrition. It is the fruit of an institutional commitment at the highest level of the State of Côte d’Ivoire and a partnership agreement with the WFP for its management.
Under the coordination of the Vice-President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, CERFAM responds to the growing demand from African countries to learn from each other as part of South-South cooperation to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 2.
CERFAM identifies, documents, promotes and disseminates best practices and lessons learned recognized by countries, while facilitating the deployment of expertise for capacity building and knowledge management. The Centre aims to federate all initiatives in the field of nutrition, school feeding, food security, health and community resilience, in a synergy of action with relevant UN agencies and other stakeholders.

Task description

Within delegated authority, the knowledge management Assistant will report to the Knowledge Management Lead. He/She will perform the following tasks:
• Coordinate the running of the Knowledge Exchange Platform of CERFAM “KEPT” and its four main components;
• Coordinate the handling and continuous updating of information and knowledge on KEPT;
• Assist in preparation of CERFAM’s knowledge management strategy and related operational materials;
• Advise and assist senior management in developing innovative partnerships in knowledge management and maintain current relations with other knowledge management platforms;
• Assist in the preparation of conferences, technical missions, workshops, meetings and any other relevant events of knowledge exchange including the preparation of reports, briefings documents, concept notes, admin notes, and other relevant documentation;
• Develop and edit event reports, NFRs, minutes, and other reporting material;
• Ensure good practices are uploaded in KEPT as per annual work plan;
• Support preparation of knowledge products related to CERFAM’s work ;
• Engage with WFP Country Offices, Regional Bureau, and Centres of Excellence as well as other partner organizations (UN agencies, NGO, Research Centre etc.) in the search for good practices and opportunities for collaboration;
• Provide assistance in the management of the CERFAM roster of technical experts including facilitating their registration on KEPT and assisting in technical data management;
• Assist in the exchanges on KEPT’s expert forum through moderation and linking queries to appropriate experts;
• Develop various visibility and advocacy products on KEPT targeting different audiences (key messages, factsheets, 2 pagers, impact stories, briefing notes, videos, etc.);
