PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
EpiC is a five-year global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, treatment programming and viral load (VL) suppression among key populations (KPs) and priority populations (PPs). In the Philippines, EpiC will work in the Greater Metro Manila Area (Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Central Luzon) to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the HIV response by expanding HIV case finding in the community, upscaling of PrEP implementation, and strengthening treatment initiation, adherence, and retention support for people living with HIV (PLHIV). Moreover, EpiC Philippines aims to build the capacity of local, community based KP organizations and work closely with the government of the Philippines to deliver HIV services tailored to the needs of KPs. In its fifth year, there is also increasing focus on delivering pivotal knowledge management products to highlight best practices and innovations that can support expansion and sustainability of effective programs and initiatives.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Knowledge Management Associate will directly report to the Research and Knowledge Management Technical Specialist and work closely with the technical teams and sites to ensure proper documentation and highlight key innovations and best practices. S/he will oversee and support the overall development of knowledge management products in relation to the project and site/partner activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Technical Specialist – Research and Knowledge Management (HIV) and Technical Officer – Research (HIV) in identifying, planning, and implementation of the project’s knowledge management initiatives identified in the annual KM plan.
- Ensures strong knowledge management practices and innovations within the project, organizing not only the information produced directly by EpiC team but also by partners and stakeholders in the field of HIV.
- Supports Technical Specialist in visualizing data for dissemination to a variety of audiences and translating technical findings into user-friendly knowledge products, such as infographics, media and policy briefs, aimed at non-technical audiences.
- Supports Technical Specialist in developing and preparing innovative, evidence-based learning products and collaterals (e.g., research summaries, abstracts, case studies, presentations, infographics, etc.) to share findings and inform partners, donors, and stakeholders.
- Write, edit, and distribute content, including newsletters, success stories, press releases, website/social media content, and other material that communicates the project’s activities, products and/or services.
- Contribute to regular reporting and documentation of best practices for the project and overall regional and national program.
- Assists with project-related activities, such as progress monitoring, as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned and agreed upon.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in developing knowledge management products and technical writing is required
- Working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures with providing program support for HIV activities/projects is desired.
- Experience in on-site coordination and communication.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office package, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and with experience using database or data entry software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work with others effectively.
- Prior experience in a non- governmental organization (NGO) preferred.
- Fluency in English and local language.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Usual office working conditions.
- Ability to travel domestically at least 25%
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS in any Public Health, Allied Medical Field, Social Sciences, Communications, Development Studies or equivalent work experiences
- Minimum 2 years of program and/or project quality improvement experience, preferably in health or HIV-related projects.
