The Knowledge Production and Communications Officer will lead GGGI’s communication and knowledge sharing work in Lao PDR, and act as the organization’s focal point for related issues at country level. In this role, the Officer will lead day-to-day management of GGGI Lao PDR’s small Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit and team and will be responsible for developing and delivering the roll out of GGGI Lao PDR’s communication and knowledge sharing strategy in alignment with GGGI’s global strategy. The Officer is also responsible for overseeing and ensuring consistency in branding and visual identity across communications assets developed by the country office. The Officer will have a key role in delivering communication and knowledge products and initiatives on the MFAT-financed project “Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Adaptation”, linked to the design, implementation and dissemination of research and knowledge development in support of urban wetland restoration in Lao PDR
• Undergraduate degree in a field relevant to marketing, communications, design or knowledge management or related fields.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience within the field of communications, marketing, knowledge management.
• A proven track record of creating engaging, innovative communication and knowledge production and knowledge sharing products and initiatives.
• Experience designing and delivering knowledge production and/or research activities in the field.
• Demonstrated experience on projects funded by international development partners or NGOs will be a plus.
• Exceptional skills in building productive working relationships with colleagues, field offices, stakeholders, donors and other partners.
• Strong writing skills, and excellent design and graphic skills will be an advantage.
• Excellent communications skills more generally in English and Lao is a must.
• Highly proficient in use of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, other)
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Experience in the use of Microsoft 365 application, particularly SharePoint
• Experience in the use of Content Management Systems such as WordPress
• Experience with Adobe Suite applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign, other communication tools and technologies.
• Experience with knowledge production process and knowledge management principles.
• Understand and actively supports GGGI’s mission, vision, and values.
• Promote an organizational culture of trust, transparency, respect, and partnership.
• Excels at problem-solving, asks questions and seeks support when needed, and shares easily information and knowledge with others both internally as externally.
• Manage emotions and stress positively, builds rapport and resolve conflict easily.

• Able to travel domestically and internationally.
The Knowledge Production and Communications Officer is an X8 National Staff Level in GGGI salary scale. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate’s experience, academic background and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.

GGGI Lao PDR’s Communication and Knowledge Sharing Unit manages and leads GGGI’s communications, knowledge production and information sharing initiatives across the country program. This includes substantive knowledge production and dissemination, primarily linked through a new project named “Nature-Based Solutions for Urban Adaptation”, funded by New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), which aims to increase the resilience of urban communities in Vientiane Capital through a range of interventions, including nature-based solutions, to improve urban wetland management for urban flood resilience. The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Unit also engages in communications and design activities such as video production and dissemination; project brochures and factsheets; publication design, layout and printing; social media engagement and press and media relations and publication. The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Unit engages in raising the profile of GGGI to be recognized as one of the world’s top-tier green growth solution providers through the implementation of communications strategies and activities.
