Background:
OSCE missions and field activities are the front line of the OSCE work and are the agent through which political decisions are translated into action. Each mission has a different mandate, but generally the work addresses early warning, preventive diplomacy, conflict management, and post-conflict rehabilitation.
The OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek (POiB) seeking a Kyrgyz Language Instructor who will be responsible for teaching beginner and intermediate level Kyrgyz language classes on-site at POiB office.
Objective of Assignment:
To provide beginner and intermediate level Kyrgyz language courses to POiB staff in an on-site office setting, ensuring development of language skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
To provide beginner and intermediate level Kyrgyz language courses to POiB staff in an on-site office setting, ensuring that students developdevelopment of language skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
- Plan and prepare lesson materials and curriculum for beginner and intermediate level Kyrgyz language classes.
- Deliver engaging and effective language instruction to adult learners.
- Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters language acquisition.
- Monitor and evaluate POiB staff progress throughout the course.
- Provide feedback and support to POiB staff as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and learners progress.
- Communicate with management regarding course content, student progress, and any concerns or issues that arise.
Instructor should conduct classes 2 times per week for group of 10-15 people at the OSCE Programme Office in Bishkek.
Deliverables:
- Lesson plans and instructional materials for each class session.
- Ongoing student progress reports and feedback to management.
- Regular communication with management regarding course content and student progress.
Necessary Qualifications:
- University degree in philology or relevant field.
- Minimum four years of professional experience in teaching Kyrgyz language to adults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Professional fluency in the Kyrgyz, Russian and English language, both oral and written.
- Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;
- Computer literate with practical experience using Microsoft applications.
Remuneration Package:
Remuneration will be based on the selected consultant’s/expert’s qualifications, experience, the tasks and deliverables for this position and in accordance with the OSCE established rates.
