Job Description

Purpose:

The Rahbar Lab (ER Lab) is seeking a Laboratory Manager who can coordinate day-to-day lab operations, maintain lab equipment and safety protocols, and assist with research activities in the lab.

Responsibilities:

  • Purchase of laboratory supplies. Equipment maintenance and cleaning of lab benches and glassware.
  • Maintenance of laboratory safety manuals and other regulatory documents.
  • Working with cells and maintaining cell culture, conducting in vitro experiments, and performing various biology lab techniques such as PCR, genotyping, ELISAs, and Western Blot are essential responsibilities.
  • Oversee several experiments and act as a liaison between the principal investigator (PI) and both undergraduate and graduate students in the lab.
  • Display excellent organizational and communication skills, as they will record data for publications, presentations, and future grant submissions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Six years of related experience

What is helpful:

  • Some experience with animal models.
