Qualifications

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

Five years of related experience.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to use laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus and computer equipment.
  • Knowledge of facility repairs and safety procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Other Requirements or Other Factors

Ability to exert heavy force. Ability to lift heavy objects

Job Responsibilities

  • Make repairs, adjustments and perform maintenance (including preventative maintenance) to equipment and facilities, grease and oil equipment according to maintenance schedules. Perform routine equipment inspections and repairs. Entering Aggieworks for work orders as needed for building repairs. Assigned daily, weekly, monthly, yearly planned maintenance duties.
  • Prepare and proofread routine inventory forms; operate standard office equipment including a microcomputer; provide general information, route or resolve issues relating to building, mechanical, property or various issues; take physical departmental equipment and inventory of all issued property and match with existing records; assist as needed with inventory and surplussing of lab equipment
  • Prepare labs for new faculty who are being hired to work in our building.
  • Assist with moving equipment and special setups.
  • Assist with decommissioning labs.
  • Pickup parts and make deliveries as needed.
  • Lock-up building in evening.
  • Additional duties including (but not limited to): change belts, change light bulbs, etc.
  • Other job-related duties as required.
