The University of Maryland School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for two (2) Laboratory Research Specialists to join the Department of Pediatrics. The mission of the unit will be to focus on exploring the physiology of acquired red cell injury, on development of a novel bio-synthetic artificial redcell, and on translational transfusion medicine in an ICU setting.

Primary Duties
Education: Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or field of study related to the research of the laboratory.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience including two (2) years in the relevant research specialization.
Other: May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and/or ionizing radiation. May consider a combination of directly related experience and education.
The Hiring Range for this position is in the mid $50,000s to mid $60,000s, commensurate with education and experience.
