Land Project Manager/Agricultural Specialist

Scenic Hudson seeks a Land Project Manager/Agricultural Specialist to initiate and manage the successful completion of farmland conservation transactions and implement Scenic Hudson’s goals to advance climate smart agriculture in the Hudson Valley. 

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (with advanced degree desirable), a minimum of two years of related professional experience, and a demonstrable knowledge of agricultural practices.  The ideal candidate will be an experienced land conservation professional with a track record of completing real estate transactions, and a track record in working with farmers in some capacity. Experience with GIS desirable. 

Must be a strategic thinker with robust interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex transactions and sometimes challenging situations.

Organizational and time management skills are essential.  Must have the ability to work independently and possess a self-directed, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial work ethic.  We are seeking an individual who communicates and collaborates well, and who embraces accountability as a member of a high-functioning team.

A passion for agriculture and alignment with and enthusiasm for Scenic Hudson’s mission are required. Must enjoy the outdoors and have ability to travel within the region and ability to walk about 3-5 miles over uneven terrain in inclement weather.  Some evening and weekend work and access to reliable transportation for travel throughout the Hudson Valley is required.
