Qualified candidates bring a strong natural resource background such as forest ecology/forestry, ecology, wildlife, or fisheries biology, and a minimum of three years experience in land conservation, stewardship, resource planning or a related field. The Land Steward must have very strong organizational skills. The ability to communicate effectively, personably, and diplomatically with landowners and the public is critical, as is the ability to contribute to a positive, team-oriented working environment. Knowledge of the ecology of Southwest Oregon, familiarity with the region, experience working with a land trust and conservation easement properties, training in cultural competency, Wilderness First Aid/Responder, and Spanish language skills are preferred.
