Land Steward

The Land Steward is responsible for leading the daily operation and management of The Nature Conservancy’s Flat Ranch Preserve, H Bar L Ranch and other TNC properties in eastern and central Idaho. They support stewardship program activities including conservation easement monitoring, managing leases and contracts, and developing management plans. The Land Steward oversees the day-to-day activities of TNC properties including property maintenance, and public outreach. The position requires safe equipment operation (trucks, ATVs, tractor, skid-steer, and trailers) and the ability to work with and supervise interns, volunteers, and possibly other staff. The Land Steward develops strong relationships and key partnerships to implement and support stewardship and restoration efforts. Work may require frequent travel regionally, and some evening and weekend hours. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances.

During the field season, the Land Steward will work out of the Flat Ranch Preserve office, located in Island Park, ID.
