The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our Engineering Division, Public Land Survey Office (PLSO), as a Land Survey Records Technician (Engineering Aide 3, EA3). 

The person who fills this position will be responsible for scanning survey maps and other survey-related documents and annotating and indexing data into the publicly accessible WebXtender database.  The incumbent will also be responsible for independently making judgments concerning which donated survey records are worthy of being maintained in the database and will perform some land survey document research for customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Intake and process recorded survey maps and other documents from counties.
  • Intake and process unrecorded survey maps donated from public or private sources.
  • Index survey maps and other documents into the database.
  • Research Land Survey data requests.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro, and AppXtender. 
  • Experienced in database file management.
  • Highly driven toward customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to stay focused in a busy work environment.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
