Your responsibilities
The geomatics team (Sites and Civil Engineering Department) is in charge of providing topographic services and managing the CERN Geographic Information System (GIS). The team surveys, collects and manages all geographical information relating to CERN’s infrastructure and equipment.
As a Land Survey Technician, you will be responsible for topographical surveys and for the setting out of buildings and underground networks and services. You will also be in charge of drawing your plans and maps in the GIS. The work is divided approximately equally between field and office, and you will work in close collaboration with the surveyor in charge of topography.

Skills/Qualifications
Skills and/or knowledge
- Experience in land surveying and in the use of tacheometers, GPS and level.
- Practice in Autocad drawing.
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (ArgisPro would be a plus).
- Fluent in French, the ability to work in English would be an advantage.

This position requires:
- A valid driving licence.

Eligibility criteria
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Topography, land surveying (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants with a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree are not eligible.
