At New Leaf Eco Landscapes LLC, it is our mission to practice responsible land stewardship by promoting, facilitating and managing properties to create and support ecologically diverse native landscapes. Our Headquarters is based out of Claverack, NY, where we have planted out a nursery, installed showcase native meadows, wetlands, and a food forest. 

We are currently seeking full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees to start ASAP.

The right candidate must have a love for nature and a passion for ecological restoration. As a Landscape Crew Member, you’ll be integral to restoring commercial and residential properties, removing invasive plant species, installing native perennial gardens and meadows, trees and shrubs, and caring for plants using ecologically-sound practices. Additionally, there will be opportunities to work alongside our renowned New Leaf Tree Service Crew. 

Responsibilities:

  • Operating company vehicles to transport plants and materials to job sites
  • Site preparation, including: Laying and securing large tarps and cardboard, weed-whacking, and clearing invasive plants from landscapes
  • Installing native perennials, meadows, shrubs, and trees at various sizes, using mechanical methods, such as hand digging, as well as operating equipment
  • Amending soil and mulching
  • Installing tree stakes, grow tubes, deer fencing
  • Plant caretaking, including: Cleaning up dead and dying plant material, weeding, dead-heading and light pruning, irrigation, deer damage prevention
  • Brush hogging
  • Communicating with Operations Manager and Crew Leader

Requirements: 

  • Ability to perform physical labor in an efficient manner for extended periods of time, in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Maintain a positive attitude and good work ethic
  • Experience in farms, gardens and/or landscaping
  • Ability to work as part of a dedicated team
  • Passion for native plant species and their role in the larger eco system
  • Must have valid Driver’s License

Bonus Qualifications: 

  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • Able to identify native plants
  • Experience operating mini-skid, mini-loader, 43 HP Tractor, mini-excavator

Starting rate is $22/hour with OT pay. Full-time employees will qualify for benefits including holiday/vacation/sick days, retirement plan, health insurance, and tuition/student loan assistance plan.
