Harlow Council is committed to drive forward with improvements in the appearance of the town,
and the maintenance of the landscaped areas in the town, which plays a large part in delivering
the Councils Corporate Plan for 2024 – 2028 Mission of Renewing the Council Neighbourhoods.
The Environment Client Team is looking to recruit a Landscape Officer to join its small team
that deal with Landscapes and Biodiversity, Street Cleansing and waste collections. You will be
primarily involved with dealing with enquiries from the public about the maintenance of the

level and delivering value for money. You will also be expected to monitor outputs and ensure
that the service specification is being delivered.
You will receive referrals through the Council’s Customer Relations Management system, by phone
and in person and you will be expected to respond to enquiries in a timely manner and maintain
accurate records. In addition, you will proactively identify areas where improvements can be
made and make proposals to the Senior Landscape Officer. You will be expected to attend and
contribute to monthly meetings with HTS and the Council’s front line Contact Harlow staff,
where performance against the contract is discussed, and issues are worked through and
resolved.
A good working knowledge of landscape maintenance practices is required and knowledge or
experience of local authority procedures and contract management would be an advantage. You
will possess good communication, administration, and IT skills, and be able to work within a
busy and demanding environment.
For an informal discussion about this role please contact Jayne Pullen, Senior Landscapes
Officer on 01279 446863.
