Lead Data Analyst – Marketing DataSalary up to £68,000 circaPermanentFT – 35 hours per weekHybrid with visits to Kings Cross – LondonClosing date 9th June 2024Saga are recruiting for a Lead Data Analyst to directly manage a team of analysts. In this role you will be reporting directly to the Director of Analytics & Decision Science, working across innovative data projects to help evolve and scope out the data strategy across all Saga brands.Our Lead Data Analyst at Saga plays a pivotal role in shaping the data strategy and marketing campaigns. You will be key to mentoring a team of talented data analysts and driving the development of analytic solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to harness the power of data to extract meaningful insights, inform strategic decisions, and contribute to the overall success of the organisation using machine learning and statistical techniques.*You will be required to visit the London Saga Hub on occasions for meetings in person. Candidates applying will need to be in a commutable distance to ensure they are able to visit the London Hub as and when required by the business.Role ResponsibilityWorking as the Lead Data Analyst, you will take full responsibility of the following areas and tasks:Team Leadership:
- To provide your team with technical leadership. By managing, mentoring and developing your team. Ensuring they provide guidance on best practices, foster high-performance culture, and ensure efficient delivery of analytical solutions.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Develop and oversee the analysis of large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights relevant to business objectives.
Reporting and visualisation:
- Develop and deliver clear and impactful reports and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders. Ensure that reports and dashboards are insightful and align with business objectives.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Working closely with business stakeholders, Marketing Directors and technical colleagues to understand analytical requirements and integrate insights into existing workflows & applications. Communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical counterparts.
Data Quality and Governance:
- Ensure the quality and integrity of data used for analysis, implementing and maintaining data governance best practices. Collaborate with IT and data teams to resolve data quality issues.
- Agile ways of working: Demonstrate experience in working in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, and adapting to changing priorities.
- Continuous improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics. Bring the most relevant ones back to SAGA and find ways to implement them to unlock business value.
The Ideal CandidateWe are keen to see applications from candidates who can demonstrate a deep commercial understanding of Data Analysis for business growth opportunities and customer development strategies. Ideally be competent with intelligent market and customer segmentations and can demonstrate how their work has impacted a product / service. Candidates will also need to have the following skills;
- A natural technical leader, who can work along side a technical team. Guiding and mentoring them on best practice and strategic approaches.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Business Analytics.
- Have gained previous experience (5+ years) in an analytical role, with a track record of successful project delivery and team leadership.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, and visualization tools like Tableau.
- Demonstrated experience working in an agile development environment, with a focus on iterative and collaborative project delivery.
- A curious nature, with the drive to learn and master new tech and methods.
