Job Summary:

This position will work with the IIE’s Corporate and Foundation Programs and Student Emergency Initiatives Department which is comprised of a dynamic portfolio of global scholarship, fellowship, and small grants programs funded primarily by foundations, corporations, IIE organizational funding, and individual donors. Much of the department’s programming centers on access to higher education, and access to particular industries and address some of the most critical issues of our time. Programs Team members have the opportunity to contribute to multiple programs at many different stages of the program lifecycle.

The Program Lead will be responsible for IIE’s overall role as Program Implementation and Administration Partner to the Ford Foundation on the Ford Global Fellowship (FGF) which aims to connect and support the next generation of social justice leaders who are advancing innovative solutions to end inequality. This includes partnering with Ford Foundation, Fellows, program implementation partners and other stakeholders to continue to co-design and implement a Fellowship experience and Community of Practice. This individual will lead IIE’s engagement with the Ford Foundation on this program. The Fellowship is grounded in transformational leadership and organizational development theoretical frameworks and lived experience. The Program Lead will partner with Ford to put those frameworks into practice building and executing dynamic, inclusive, and impactful engagements. 

 

Essential Functions:    

  • Lead the implementation of the Fellowship experience which includes significant in-person experiential learning opportunities around the globe, myriad virtual events throughout the year, and an individual development pathway.
  • Bridge program design to implementation through serving as a core contributor on the FGF Core Design Team (CDT) and leading the events and activities implementation team as a strategist, curator, and project leader.
  • Support and contribute to co-design in the administration of the full Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Design and facilitate group meetings and discussions for the partner team and with Fellows and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and supervise the IIE team dedicated to this program and work closely with sub-contracted partners and other Ford-contracted partners to meet programming objectives.
  • Oversee and lead IIE’s contract with the Ford Foundation including budget management and reporting.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Work Experience: 

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred Education and Work Experience:

  • Master’s in organizational development or related field preferred with 6-7 years of related experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experience and ability to lead complex teams and work with multiple stakeholders while holding a global lens on all work, including a demonstrated ability to create inclusive, equitable groups in which both diverse participants and all team members feel valued.
  • Program administration and implementation experience including project management, event strategy, planning and curation, vendor identification, negotiation and management, and budget management.
  • Ability to translate theory and design into practice within a complex stakeholder environment.
  • Theoretical and tactical experience in adult, leadership and organizational development, social justice issues, collective co-design, and building communities of practice.
  • Group facilitation skills and experience including deep competence and multiple layers of skills facilitating diverse groups across cultural, gender, racial, and political differences, including holding space for generative conflict and creative tension within a virtual and in-person context.
  • Experience and desire to work within large, global organizations to effect positive social change and proven ability to successfully navigate within and between those organizations and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.

 

Salary and Benefits

 

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary Range:$78,534 – $94,947. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, internal organizational equity, and geographic region.
