Banyule Community Health is seeking to employ an experienced Oral Health Therapist who can work 4-5 days per week in a Lead position. The successful applicant must demonstrate they are able to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrate well developed interpersonal skills with a strong commitment to community based dental practice.
The Lead Oral Health Therapist will be responsible for providing clinical services, supervision of students during Smile Squad placements and coaching and mentoring less experienced staff.
This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive team-based environment alongside other experienced Dental professionals.
Professional development and support is a key focus to upskill staff and create a culture of continuous improvement and development.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Provide quality dental services including preventative, emergency and general direct patient care and oral health education.
- Support orientation, learning and development interventions for OHT/ DT working in the fixed clinic and outreach services.
- Mentor and coach less experienced staff
- Supervise BOH or dental students during clinical placements in Smile Squad
- Contribute and support innovation and quality improvement activities.
The key skills required for this role include:
- Qualifications – Bachelor of Oral Health with Adult scope
- Knowledge of Community health sector
- Knowledge of patient management system (Titanium)
- Victorian Radiation Use licence – include OPG and lateral cephalogram
