The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 570 years, and today we are one of the world’s top 100 universities. We are delighted to have been recently awarded Scottish University of the Year by the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.

Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers. A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Lead People and Organisational Development Business Partner to join the University’s Human Resources function (known internally as People and Organisational Development or P&OD). As a member of our P&OD team, you’ll play a crucial role in fostering an environment where talent thrives and innovation flourishes.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of People and Organisational Development for MVLS, in this role you will deliver and coordinate a range of human resources business partnering provision that is aligned to the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences (MVLS) and University People & Organisational Development (P&OD) and operational plans. Acting as an integrated business partner, you will develop and maintain effective client relationships and service delivery partnerships across MVLS, as well as with P&OD colleagues and the wider University community.

You will be part of the College’s P&OD senior team, and will play a key, lead role in coordinating the collaborative efforts of the business partner team to deliver a top-tier, professional service that ensures that managers and staff across the College of MVLS are able to utilise dedicated, tailored P&OD advisory and administrative services, which facilitate best practice people management and appropriate use of People & Organisational Development policies and procedures. You will support the P&OD Partners and Advisers, as well as wider team colleagues, to guide the delivery of routine human resources operations, and collaborate to steer key projects and initiatives, formulating action plans, undertaking consultation, and taking responsibility for outcomes and implementation of each project.

About you

With substantial human resources professional experience, gained within a complex and diverse knowledge-based environment, you will have a proven track record of contributing to the design and development of people and organisational development initiatives, as well as a proven track record of successfully influencing and shaping wider team efforts. You will have previous experience of successfully managing change projects through to completion, and experience of policy and strategy development, including enhancing diversity, colleague engagement, and organisational development.

Closing Date: Monday 29th January 2024
