The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Lead Program Facilitator to join our family. Reporting to the Regional Programs Manager and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will provide leadership and mentoring to the casual facilitator team through pro-active support.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Provide high quality instruction of established programs and activities by using program content (and digital technology) to deliver to school students in both primary and secondary schools
  • Be prepared and confident to deliver sessions according to program requirements and using provided resources in a manner that is inclusive, empowering and responsive to student diverse learning needs, aiming to maximise engagement and completion
  • Support recruitment of appropriately qualified and experienced casual facilitators
  • Support localised on-boarding and supplement training of new facilitators so they understand The Smith Family policy and procedures and are equipped to deliver programs
  • Program administration including collecting participant attendance and all administrative reporting as required for outcome reporting and impact assessments (provided to Data Analyst, Program Implementation team and Operations Program Coordinator)

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Current Working with Children Check or willing to undergo check
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education or Social Sciences
  • Demonstrated experience delivering or facilitating training to children and/or young people
  • Genuine passion and drive to make a positive difference to the educational and life opportunities of students
  • Excellent communication skills including with young people from varying backgrounds and school staff
  • Experience in successfully coordinating people and activities remotely, including building and maintaining relationships and providing feedback.
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children’s Check (remove if neither direct or indirect contact with children)
