The lead project manager is the leader of people and a leader within the project management changes community of practice, developing, helping to encourage and contributing to continuous improvement of skills and capabilities.RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects.
  • Adopts and adapts project management methods and tools. Ensures that effective project monitoring and control processes, change control, risk management and quality processes are employed and maintained.
  • Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital expenditures against the project budget.
  • Manages the expectations of key project stakeholders
  • Facilitates workgroups to deliver defined goals and outcomes.
  • Provides support, guidance and suggestions to workgroups and teams to learn collaborative problem solving and improve their team performance. Creates shared responsibilities and sustainable agreements with the team.
  • Implements and improves agreed team principles, practices, processes & ceremonies.
  • Recognises and works with the strengths and constraints of team dynamics.
  • Leads the development of comprehensive stakeholder management strategies and plans.
  • Builds long-term, strategic relationships with senior stakeholders (internal and external). Facilitates the engagement of stakeholders in support of the delivery of services and change projects. Acts as a single point of contact for senior stakeholders, facilitating relationships between them.
  • Negotiates to ensure that stakeholders understand and agree on what will meet their needs, and that appropriate agreements are defined.
  • Recruit, train and employ high calibre employees within budget, headcount levels and temporary resource requirements.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
  • Provide oversight and direction to employees in accordance with the firm’s policies, procedures, standards and SLAs.
  • Hold regular one-to-ones with direct reports ensuring that feedback is provided in a constructive way whilst working with the employee to facilitate personal development.
  • Ensure that an effective performance review is operated in line with department guidelines, including setting objectives, personal development planning and performance standards with all direct reports.
  • Working with the Head of Change and HR Business Partner, develop a culture of performance management, improvement and appraisal as a foundation for excellent organisational performance.

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience managing a Programme/Project’s budget on behalf of the Portfolio Manager/Head of Change, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realised benefits
  • The ability to builds good, long-lasting relationships with both internal and external customers, ability to handle challenge & conflict.
  • A drive for improvement and encourages others to drive excellence
  • The ability to work well under pressure, handles ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability
  • Experience making Plans and organise a team to ensure delivery is achieved
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • The ability to delivers strategic change projects and change outcomes on a wide range of medium to large complex projects. Single function and enterprise-wide business and technical change
  • Skills in project management methodologies and lifecycles, and ability to tailor delivery styles aligning to the appropriate methodology for the project
  • Experience of hybrid working collaborating and driving delivery across both face to face and virtual relationships
  • Proficient use of core Microsoft Applications

  • Are experienced leading a significant number of business and/or technical project deliveries in financial services or other similar regulated environment
  • Experienced in both traditional and agile methods
