The Experimental Cellular Therapeutics Lab (ECTL) is actively seeking a detail-oriented Researcher with a passion for advancing pre-clinical research in gene and cellular therapy into clinical trials. As a key platform within St Jude, ECTL supports investigators in developing cutting-edge, clinical-grade manufacturing processes in collaboration with the St Jude GMP facility.

The mission of the ECTL is to help St. Jude investigators develop clinical-grade manufacturing processes in close collaboration with the St. Jude GMP facility. All ECTL researchers undergo cGMP training conducted by the GMP quality assurance team.

Preferred qualifications include experience culturing and transducing immune and hematopoietic cells and proficiency in cell assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, cytotoxicity assays, and CFU assays.

 

What We Do

• Developing and participating in the manufacturing of clinical-grade cellular products within the GMP facility.

• Generating relevant data and preparing documents to support Investigational New Drug (IND) applications to the FDA.

• Introducing, validating, and optimizing new technologies to enhance manufacturing processes for cellular therapeutics.

• Providing clinical-scale services for cell purification, engineering, genetic modification, expansion, and cryopreservation.

 

As a member of our ECTL team, you will:

• Execute various processes, with a focus on in-process cell product analysis, assays, and process development, as well as manufacturing of cellular therapeutics within cGMP, following training at the GMP facility.

• Document and accurately report experimental data (e.g., batch records, summary reports).

• Institution’s objectives, including inventory and database maintenance and SOP drafting.

• Performs laboratory experiments using existing, modified, or newly developed techniques/protocols

• Sets up protocols and troubleshoots experiments using new or modified laboratory techniques.

• Identifies experimental data pertinent to the analysis problem.

• May assist in the drafting and editing of manuscripts.

• Provides basic lab operation support, including equipment maintenance and purchasing. Monitors inventory and orders lab supplies as needed. Calibrates instruments and equipment as necessary.

• Provides guidance to entry-level employees.

• Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution

• Maintains regular and predictable attendance

 

Minimum Education and/or Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific area is required

 

Minimum Experience:

• Five (5) years of relevant, post-degree work experience is required

• Two (2) years of relevant post-degree work experience is required with a Master’s degree

• No experience is required with a PHD

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65,520 – $114,400 per year for the role of Lead Researcher – Experimental Cellular Therapeutics Lab (ECTL).
