Exercise your legal and business skills, so we can de-carbonize our future together!As Legal Counsel (Lead Specialist) for Offshore Transactions at Vestas Northern & Central Europe, you will be a member of a diverse, collaborative team that enables the sale, installation and service of wind turbines in northern and central Europe.Vestas’ values are accountability, simplicity, collaboration and passion! Our teams’ aim is to promote and enable solutions in relation to all legal matters related to the NCE offshore transactions, while appropriately protecting Vestas’ interests and commercial needs.The NCE Legal Offshore Transactions team consists of several different nationalities sitting in different offices; and we would like to add a new team member in any of the following offices: Edinburgh (UK) or Warrington (GB).Your responsibilities:

  • Supporting the NCE offshore sales & service department with the acquisition and negotiation of offshore wind transactions
  • Reviewing and analysing tender documents, issued by international clients, and to identify legal/contractual risks
  • Drafting, review and negotiation of our own and customer turbine sales contract templates, usually based on FIDIC YB, as well as related service agreements
  • Overseeing the assistance provided by outside legal advisors
  • Support of the Contract and Project Management team with the execution of transactions, sometimes legal support of Procurement
  • Optimization of the way we do business, development and improvement of templates, company policies and processes, apply best practices.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a transactional lawyer (either in an international company or in an international law firm) in the renewables sector, preferably in the area of offshore wind
  • Proven experience with FIDIC contracts
  • Exemplary drafting skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written business and legal English
  • Good in handling complex contract structures under high stress
  • Good communication skills, particularly with different stakeholders (commercial, technical, management)
