78966 – Lead Sustainability AdvisorThis Lead Sustainability Advisor will report to the SHE Business Operations Manager and will work within UK Power Networks Services based in our Heathrow Airport office. You will be a permanent employee.You will attract a salary of £76,229 plus Car, plus Outer London Allowance and a bonus of 3%. Working within our dedicated team of SHE Advisors, Engineers, Consultants and Analysts, the Lead Advisor will guide and further develop the environment and sustainability strategy to make UK Power Networks Services become one of the most environmentally and socially responsible network distribution and energy consulting companies.You will:Develop our Sustainability and Social Value Strategy and Carbon Reduction Plan.Support the implementation and delivery of PAS 2080 and SBTI projects.Provide responses to sustainability and social value questions for tenders and client reporting requirements.Integrate an embodied carbon tool into the business.Stay up to date with the needs of our industry within the sustainability and social value space.Identify opportunities and solutions to improve our carbon footprint and increase our social value.Develop a gap analysis of our existing approach to social value against best practice.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Sustainability/Environment:Deliver UKPN Services’ Sustainability and Social Value Strategy following UKPN Services’ Vison and ValuesDevelop Carbon Reduction Plan.Deliver sustainability-based consultancy projects.Support the implementation and delivery of PAS 2080/SBTi.Assess UKPN Services’ carbon footprint (offices, fleet and projects) and delivery of Science-based Targets.Provide sustainability and social value tender responses.Meet client sustainability reporting requirements.Integrate an embodied carbon tool into the business.Stay up to date with the needs of our industry within the sustainability space.Social Value:Deliver UKPN Services’ Sustainability and Social Value Strategy.Deliver social value accreditations.Provide social value tender responses.Meet client social value reporting requirements.Gap analysis of our existing approach to social value versus best practice.Innovation:Deliver engineering, commercial and technology projects in consideration of improved sustainability or social value contribution.Expertise:Present and document compelling cases and pitch ideas to senior management.Develop research, insight and expertise on sustainability and social value.NATURE AND SCOPE:Working as part of an accomplished team of engineers, consultants and analysts, you will help UK Power Networks Services grow, while developing and delivering our sustainability and social value footprint within an office-based environment.SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPEREINCE:We ask that you are Degree qualified (or level 6 equivalent) in environmental science or other relevant subject.You will be in the possession of additional qualifications in environmental management, auditing or sustainability.Previous knowldege of implementing Enivironmental/Sustainability accreditations, such as PAS2080/SBTi.Awareness of environmental issues in the electricity distribution industry.Build good working relationships across the company to ensure that the highest standards of internal customer service and consultation are achieved and be seen as the point of reference for environmental matters.Assist companywide projects to meet desired environmental goals and achieve wider business benefit.You will be comfortable presenting to management.Report writing skillsDevelop external and internal relationshipsWillingness to travelFocused and demonstrate accurate workHigh level of IT literacy and numeracy skillsDesirable:Knowledge of energy market, technologies and applicationsPostgraduate technical/management qualificationProject / Programme management qualification e.g. PRINCE2/PMPUK Power Networks Services encourages staff development and believes there are great opportunities for the right candidates to progress in the future.Health & Safety ResponsibilitiesManagers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors and employees of other organisations.
