Position Summary
Coordinates tutor and technology services requests; and provides individual and group tutoring of students.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise the supplemental instruction tutors (students)
- Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with faculty and staff and coordinate tutoring requests by students and community members
- Participate in appropriate teams of tasks forces inside and outside of CNM
- Coordinate and conduct tutor training
- Assist students in the reviewing of course material and problem solving
- Coordinate and/or conduct workshops and study groups for students
- Coordinate and/or conduct marketing activities such as class visits and new students orientations
- Guide students in selecting and using material
- Maintain a weekly calendar of available hours for students appointments
- Maintain instructional materials (e.g. Textbooks, calculators, software, etc.)
- Collect and analyze data
- Participate in required tutor training
- Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED and successful completion of 30 hours postsecondary course work, to include (9) hours of coursework in Math and Sciences (college algebra, physics, and chemistry etc.) , nine (9) hours of coursework in English (Composition, Rhetoric, Technical Writing, Composition Theory, Language Development, Linguistics, ESL and Spanish etc.)
