Position Summary

Coordinates tutor and technology services requests; and provides individual and group tutoring of students.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise the supplemental instruction tutors (students)
  • Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with faculty and staff and coordinate tutoring requests by students and community members
  • Participate in appropriate teams of tasks forces inside and outside of CNM
  • Coordinate and conduct tutor training
  • Assist students in the reviewing of course material and problem solving
  • Coordinate and/or conduct workshops and study groups for students
  • Coordinate and/or conduct marketing activities such as class visits and new students orientations
  • Guide students in selecting and using material
  • Maintain a weekly calendar of available hours for students appointments
  • Maintain instructional materials (e.g. Textbooks, calculators, software, etc.)
  • Collect and analyze data
  • Participate in required tutor training
  • Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED and successful completion of 30 hours postsecondary course work, to include (9) hours of coursework in Math and Sciences (college algebra, physics, and chemistry etc.) , nine (9) hours of coursework in English (Composition, Rhetoric, Technical Writing, Composition Theory, Language Development, Linguistics, ESL and Spanish etc.)
