  • Salary: $37.18 per hour (25% penalty applies to Saturday, 50% penalty applies to Sunday) plus superannuation.

Please note that Junior rates will apply for persons 18 years and under.

About us

With the facility refurbishment of Galston Aquatic & Leisure Centre nearly complete and the ever-growing need for water safety in our community, we’re looking for learn to swim teachers with a true passion for education to join our teams at both Hornsby and Galston Aquatic Centres. If seeing non swimmers of all ages and abilities grow into happy confident ones and this makes you want to come to work every day, then this is the role for you! We’re after reliable, positive, and ambitious team players to jump on board.

About the role

The major functions of the role are;

  • To contribute to and ensure the safety and protection of all users, including children, young people and employees at Council’s Aquatic and Recreation Facilities through communication and compliance of Council’s determinations and State and Federal Regulations.
  • To act as Learn to Swim teacher and provide swimming tuition to patrons of the centre.

About you

You will need;

  • A current Austswim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certificate.
  • A current Advanced Resuscitation Certificate.
  • Sound swimming teacher experience to varying aged pupils at all levels and standards.

If you are flexible to work Monday to Sunday, mornings or afternoons, then this may be the role for you!
