Impact of the organisation

The Older Persons Advocacy Networks (OPAN) is a national network of independent member organisations that give a voice to older people seeking or receiving government-funded aged care services.

The network provides free and confidential aged care advocacy, information and education to older people, their families or representatives.

As a peak body organisation, OPAN works with the government and other agencies to influence aged care policy through systemic advocacy.

Our collective vision is of a society where older people are heard, informed and respected, and where they can enjoy and exercise their rights to live fulfilling lives.

Impact you will have in this role

This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate and support the development and rollout of OPAN education programs and assist with the logistics of education forums that include webinars, conferences and varied learning and development initiatives.

The learning and development initiatives you will help to coordinate and develop are tailored to support and positively impact older people and their families, the aged care workforce and our network of aged care advocates.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Learning & Development Lead in the management and troubleshooting of OPAN’s Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Assist in developing eLearning modules and other delivery methods that promote best practices in adult learning
  • Take ownership of the logistics and delivery of webinars alongside the Stakeholder Engagement Manager
  • Coordinate OPAN’s participation at national conferences and events ensuring thorough planning and seamless execution
  • Ensure the smooth operation of daily learning and development activities, including regular reporting
  • Actively contribute and participate as a member in the marketing, communications, learning and development team

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience administering and monitoring a Learning Management System, including reporting
  • Proficiency in Articulate Rise/Storyline to develop or update online learning content
  • Basic graphic and video editing skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia etc
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Must have a pro-active and can-do attitude
  • General knowledge of Learning and Development practices and strong IT literacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Effective project management/event coordination experience
  • High level to detail and care
  • A background or knowledge in aged care is highly regarded, but not essential
  • A genuine love for learning, and passion for making an impact in the lives of older people across Australia
