Duties and Responsibilities
The Learning and Development Intern may be assigned tasks including but not limited to: • Assist in planning, development and implementation of learning and development activities including workshops and webinars. • Support development of e-learning courses. • Design communication materials for roll-out of initiatives. • Undertake research into best practices. • Support staff wellbeing activities and events. • Engage in creative problem solving to contribute innovative ideas and strategies. • Ensure our internal sites serve as effective communication platforms. On completion of the internship, the candidate will have gained: • An understanding of learning and development theories and processes. • Excellent knowledge of UNRWA, its mandate, structure, and operation mode. • Valuable experience in human resources management under a multicultural context, with a particular focus on learning and development. • A deeper understanding of humanitarian assistance, especially in the conflict context. • Writing skills for literature review and communication skills. • Capacities for multitasking and prioritizing.
Qualifications/special skills
Education: a) be enrolled in an accredited first-level, higher education programme (Bachelor or equivalent); b) be enrolled in an accredited graduate school programme (Master or higher or equivalent); or c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined in paragraphs 7a and b above), must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. Work Experience: Applicants are not required to have professional work experience, although prior work experience in training/learning and development will be an advantage. Excellent IT skills are required.
Languages
Excellent command of spoken and written English.
