About the Position
The post holder leads globally on learning and development and employee engagement and works closely with the Headquarter (HQ) team and globally located country office teams to provide a seamless service. The postholder will lead on designing, implementing and managing global learning programs including leadership and management programs (including coaching), induction programs, an e-learning program for employees and building internal learning and development capacity.
The postholder will also lead on employee engagement, performance management and wellbeing programs and initiatives which support organizational strategy and performance and ensure a great working environment.
The post holder will partner with leaders and managers, subject matter experts, functional leads, and HR professionals globally to deliver a Learning and Engagement service which enables continuous learning, growth and a positive employee experience to support the delivery of the WorldFish mission and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Build a Learning and Development Program
- Actively work with leaders, managers and HR colleagues globally to understand the priority skills, expertise and knowledge required to deliver the global WorldFish strategy.
- Working closely with leaders, managers, subject matter experts, global and local providers and HR colleagues globally build a learning and development program that encompasses a wide range of learning and development solutions which builds the required skills, expertise and knowledge in key WorldFish priority areas.
- Lead the delivery of our learning programs, facilitating, coaching and providing train the trainer as required.
- Manage and further develop the e-Learning system and offering.
- Communicate learning and development opportunities effectively to employees and managers globally.
Leadership and Management Development
- Lead the development, implementation and delivery of a leadership and management program, including options for coaching, to support the building of leadership and management skills at WorldFish and the embedding of excellent management practices globally.
Learning and Development Support and Advice
- Coach managers to understand employee learning needs, career aspirations and support them to build learning and development plans for employees and teams.
- Recommend suitable learning and development methods and tools to employees and managers.
Onboarding Programs
- Lead the development and delivery of global induction programs (including programs, e-courses, guidance, and processes) for all new and transitioning employees. Support HR colleagues globally and managers in the delivery of country specific inductions that also further complement the global programs.
- Ensure all employees receive a thorough induction and coach managers on their role in delivering this.
Performance Management
- Manage the delivery and communication of the full cycle of the annual performance management system and processes.
- Lead the development and delivery of effective performance management learning materials, policies and processes.
Employee Engagement
- Create and implement global employee engagement initiatives to support high levels of employee engagement.
- Support the Global HR Lead and senior management team for HR and employee related communications and events to celebrate achievements and other key milestones.
- Lead the implementation of employee surveys in conjunction with other CGIAR colleagues and support WorldFish leadership with taking forwards the survey results.
Wellbeing
- Leads the development, implementation and communication of a wellbeing program for WorldFish employees globally, including linking with other CGIAR colleagues as required.
Talent Management
- Lead the development and implementation of clear career paths for staff and promotion processes.
- Support managers in succession planning for their teams
- Implement and promote mentorship programs and initiatives that support career growth.
Working as part of the wider HR network
- With the Global HR Lead support, the capability development of the global HR network through coaching, identifying development needs, joint initiatives and networking.
Data Analysis, Reporting and Evaluation of Learning Solutions
- Collect, analyze and report data on learning needs and outcomes, engagement levels, and other relevant metrics (including from employee surveys, exit interviews, learning evaluations).
- Use HR metrics to shape, evaluate and monitor learning and engagement initiatives and adjust programs as needed.
Leadership and Management
- Undertake annual work planning with the HR team to develop a cohesive HR departmental plan.
- Recruit, manage and develop direct reports, ensuring high levels of engagement.
General
- Performs any other duties, tasks and responsibilities as may be required to further advance relevant strategies and initiatives and as discussed with WorldFish and CGIAR.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, business management, education, or a related field.
- Membership of a nationally recognized professional human resource body such as CIPD, SHRM etc. obtained through professional experience and/or educational route. If an applicant does not have this, continuous professional development will need to be fully evidenced.
- Significant expert knowledge and experience in organizational learning and development.
- Experienced and skilled in identifying and analyzing learning and engagement needs, developing relevant approaches and evaluating effectiveness.
- Proven track record of designing, implementing and delivering successful learning and development programs (both face to face and remote).
- Strong understanding and experience of implementing employee engagement strategies and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels in a respectful, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary organization.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, highly articulate and confident standing up and delivering to groups at all levels.
- Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate with diverse teams, managers and leaders globally.
- Experienced in partnering with third parties to design and deliver learning interventions.
- Experienced in using different technologies for learning and engagement initiatives and programs.
- Good awareness of the latest trends and best practice in learning and development.
- A good networker – able to build effective internal and external networks to support WorldFish learning.
- Experience of working in multi-cultural environments, with an appreciation of cultural differences, with a proven ability to build relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
- Sound judgement. Able to influence and be seen as a credible source of advice and feedback.
- Good project manager with sound planning skills.
- Good coaching and mentoring skills with an approach that builds capacity rather than dependency.
- Commitment to WorldFish values and a working style that demonstrates these.
Desirable Skills/Experience
- A post graduate qualification in human resources management, learning and development, organizational behavior, organizational psychology.
- Professional qualification or training in coaching, mentoring, mediation, facilitation, project management.
- Experience of working internationally within an international organization.
Benefits
This is a Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position and WorldFish offers a competitive remuneration package including comprehensive benefits (but not limited to) insurance coverage for staff and eligible dependents, employer provident fund contribution, paid leave and others. The duration of the contract will initially be for a three-year period with possibility for extension, depending on funding and performance.
