THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and creative Learning Designer to facilitate the design, development and implementation of educational courses along with support for curriculum design as part of an exciting new project.
Macquarie University and the Faculty of Science and Engineering are currently developing and delivering ‘The Digital Tech Frontier’ course suite, which will address several areas of the economy where skilled graduates are most highly in demand – Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Information Technology Networking, Digital Marketing and Analytics. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Faculty of Science and Engineering’s Learning Design Team working to develop new innovative curriculum in collaboration with academics within the School of Computing.
Reporting to the Learning Design and Production Lead, working with the learning design team and educational media production, the successful candidate will design, develop and implement engaging and interactive courseware, assessments, educational media, learning activities and learning objects. This role will also coordinate with project stakeholders including academics, marketing, and central technical teams, help design and develop learning objects, action feedback gathered from review cycles, and provide expert advice to project stakeholders on technology enhanced learning.
About You
You will have knowledge of adult learning principles including online and blended learning pedagogies, proven experience in the development of learning and teaching technologies and eLearning courseware. You have experience in instructional design and creating innovative and effective learning activities within an institutional learning management system, preferably Moodle. Some experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, H5P, Articulate360, or other learning web-based platforms will ensure your success in this role.

Essential criteria

Tertiary qualification in learning technologies and/or equivalent experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of current adult learning principles (including online/blended learning pedagogies).

Experience working with institutional learning management systems with evidence of wide experience in the design, preparation, and implementation of education programs (including the development of resources and learning materials) using web-based platforms and/or learning management systems.

Demonstrated ability to create interactive and innovative content based on instructional design principles.
-
Some experience in working with the Adobe Creative Suite, H5P and other multimedia tools to create learning content, including interactive resources.

Time management and organisational skills, and experience coordinating and delivering on competing deadlines.

Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Salary Package: Learning Designer (Level 7) from $104,726 to $113,545 per annum, plus 17% employer’s superannuation.
