The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.
Our team is growing and as part of our commitment to our five-year strategy, we are seeking a Learning Designer to help build capability and provide an amazing employee experience. In this high energy, creative and engaging role, you’ll support the organisation in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of innovative, high quality and engaging online, blended and in person learning programs, solutions and resources.
About our role
- Design and develop engaging digital learning resources using Articulate Rise and other contemporary tools
- Design and develop innovative online, blended and in person learning programs that are scalable and sustainable and support learners anywhere, anytime, anyway
- Facilitate engaging online, blended and in-person learning programs/solutions
- Curate learning materials and resources
- Create effective and compelling communications to promote learning programs and resources
About you
You thrive in a role working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, utilising your excellent written and verbal communications to the full. As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Cert IV or equivalent in learning design
- 3+ years in learning design/L&D role involving design
- Demonstrated experience in applying adult learning principles, learning theories (including social learning) and contemporary instructional design principles in the development of learning programs and resources
- Experience with various technologies to create and facilitate engaging learning programs
- Highly proficient in Articulate Rise or other eLearning authoring tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary virtual facilitation principles and engaging face-to-face facilitation practices
- Understanding of principles of good visual/graphic design to create graphics and infographics to enhance learning materials
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Power BI and Teams and proficiency in SharePoint is desirable
- Experience designing, developing and delivering technical/systems training would be an advantage
