POSITION SUMMARY:
The University of South Florida College of Nursing seeks a Learning Designer I to join the Educational Design & Technology (EDT) team. This individual will support nursing faculty and staff in the development of quality learning experiences that will aid in the fulfillment of the college mission. This position collaborates with faculty, researchers, and staff to design and develop content for online, hybrid, face-to-face, continuing education, grant-funded courses and staff projects. The incumbent will be innovative and creative while employing instructional design principles and leveraging instructional technologies to create quality and authentic learning experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist faculty with writing clear, measurable learning objectives and/or competencies; assess faculty and learner needs to determine appropriate learning solutions; collaborate with faculty in the design and development of transformational learning experiences; craft immersive and pedagogically sound digital assets for courses and staff projects.
Collaborate with team members to produce media and audiovisual content; guide faculty in selecting appropriate instructional strategies and technologies that enhance learning; assist faculty in updating course content.
Evaluate online courses and make recommendations for improvement based on the Florida Quality Review process; offer course design and technical assistance to meet Quality Matters (QM) standards.
Provide user support and troubleshooting for Canvas and instructional technologies; participate in the delivery of professional development programs and trainings.
Use project management tools to manage projects, document progress, and adhere to deadlines; support the mission, vision, and values of the College; attend College events and meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in education, learning or instructional design, digital media or related field, with two years of experience in related positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
