Position description

The Congressional Hunger Center seeks a Learning Manager to lead the development and execution of learning strategies by assessing learning needs and designing, delivering, and evaluating effectiveness of in-person and virtual learning events and trainings for the Hunger Center’s leadership development program participants.

o You have experience with Microsoft Office applications and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Box, Smartsheet, Trello) and love creating systems to keep project resources organized and avoid re-creating the wheel.

o You demonstrate strong time management skills and can plan, set priorities, and deliver on projects independently.

  • You have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher.

What You Will Do:

As Learning Manager, you will serve as the project manager responsible for leading the design, planning, implementation, and evaluation of fellowship program learning events. You will also coordinate the use of the learning tools and platforms used by the Hunger Center, serving as an onsite administrative expert for online learning management system.

To be specific, you will:

· Develop event project plans and oversee timelines, annual calendars, tasks, and roles and responsibilities for staff and external consultants for all the Hunger Center learning events.

· Collaborate with program leaders and design consultant to develop the agenda; identify and invite potential speakers/trainers; design sessions; and ensure documents management and timely dissemination of event materials to participants.

· Support the development, documentation and implementation of frameworks and curriculum and associated materials and modules related to the Hunger Center’s Leadership Capabilities, Domestic and International Food Security, and Racial Equity, Power, and Privilege.

· Provide the Program and Operations Coordinator all learning event and logistics requirements and run of show to inform their planning, management, and execution.

· Develop a detailed annual learning event budget and monitor spending against this budget in collaboration with the Program and Operations Coordinator.

· Provide the Program and Operations Coordinator with all the information required to process contracts and payments for all event related expenditures (includes speaker honoraria, vendor invoices etc.…). 

· Provide the “day of” event management, including serving as facilitator.

· Design and manage evaluations of the learning events, producing evaluation summaries, leading after-action reviews, and proposing and testing modifications in future events. 

· Manage use of the online learning management system, handling vendor contracts and relationships, and serving as the primary administrative user and in-house expert.

· Manage trainer records in Salesforce, ensuring relevant contact info, session materials, and feedback and observations are tracked. Document the Hunger Center’s faculty of trainers and facilitators through strategic collaboration with other Hunger Center staff and consultants.

Compensation & Location:

This is a full-time, exempt position based in Washington, D.C. We currently maintain a hybrid work schedule and employees are expected to work in-person from our office once a week.

The salary range for Manager roles starts at $60,000, with exact salary depending on experience.
