The Department of Sport Management (SPM) at the University of Florida (UF) invites applications and nominations for one full-time, Instructional Assistant Professor. We are seeking candidates who will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence, experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; and provide department, college, and professional service. An earned doctorate in sport management or related discipline is required. Candidates should be passionate and enthusiastic toward student learning and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence. They should have experience in developing new courses, in online teaching, and in integrating experiential learning into the curriculum. We are seeking applications from candidates with expertise in any area related to the management, marketing, or governance of sport. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience teaching in any combination of the following: ethical issues in sport; sport information management; social issues in sport; managing sport organizations; sport marketing; sport sponsorship; sport business and finance; and sport analytics. The Department of Sport Management is committed to excellence and impact through (a) innovative, socially impactful research; (b) the preparation and training of future industry and academic professionals; (c) engaging with the community, and (d) being stewards of the future. The department includes 6 instructional and 7 tenured or tenure-track faculty, who are supported by award winning advisory and administrative staff. Across residential and online programs, SPM reaches more than 900 students (596 undergraduate majors, 316 master’s students, and 16 PhD students). The Sport Management online program was one of the first in the country and is a thriving part of the department.
