About the College of Medicine and Public Health

About the Role
The Lecturer in Behavioural Health will produce quality teaching materials and deliver postgraduate teaching in the Counselling suite of postgraduate programs. This includes the development of innovative teaching materials, multi-mode teaching delivery, including face to face and online, supervision of students on placement, and other innovative and contemporary teaching and learning strategies appropriate for the discipline.
The incumbent will also contribute to strengthening existing, or exploring new, partnerships with external stakeholders that have potential for providing improved teaching, learning, placement opportunities, and/or research outcomes for the University. Active contribution to the integration and management of aspects of the academic and administrative life of the College is required.
About You
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

Completion of a PhD, Master of Counselling, or equivalent qualification in counselling or mental health.

Accreditation, or eligibility for accreditation, with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), or an equivalent professional body.

Capacity to undertake high quality teaching in a tertiary environment, including involvement in course / topic coordination and curriculum design.

Understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research, and scholarship.
