About the Role

The position of Lecturer involves working in a large team within the Government discipline, performing teaching and teaching related duties in the fields of Public Policy, Public Administration or Public Leadership including the creation, delivery, and continuous quality improvement of university-level education.

In this role you will be creating and coordinating the delivery of topics in the areas of our Public Policy and Public Administration programs, across all levels and modes within the College.

You will also be responsible for

  • Contributing to the review, renewal and development and design of curricula and courses.
  • Planning and evaluating topics, taking the role of Topic Coordinator as required.
  • Provide support, academic counselling, and professional advice to students, regarding their studies, professional development, and career opportunities.
  • Maintain professional knowledge related to teaching within your discipline through scholarships and professional development.
  • Engaging in activities with external professional domains such as conferences and workshops and on a local, national, or international level.

About You

To be successful in the role of Lecturer in Government you will demonstrate:

  • Evidence of making an independent contribution to teaching and the scholarship of teaching in the following areas: Public Policy; Public Administration
  • The ability to engage with e-learning platforms related to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills, including cross-cultural communication and liaising with and/or teaching international students.
  • Enhance student success including student retention and success of employability.
  • Evidence of peer review of teaching and commitment to professional development in teaching.

The ideal candidate will also have completed a PhD, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
